I was plugging in a USB cord when a bit of static went from my fingertip into the USB's metal port. My computer turned off and now will not turn back on.

Although I already suspect the worse, I figured I would ask if there's anything I can do, or if I'll need to replace something?

Unfortunately, I tried both of those and it did not work. I still get the brief power-up light (a flicker) but no startup.

Well.

Sounds like the MB is gone to be.

But you can try and unplug the power to everything except the MB itself and the CPU fan and see if it will power on.

Hello! I ended up taking my computer to a tech. The motherboard and CPU were both gone, so I had to replace both. That got my computer running again.
