After recently upgrading my acer laptop from the factory standard Vista to Windows 7 x86, for the first 4 weeks everything worked great (Wireless was working).

Recently discovered that the wireless capabilities have been turned off, and windows 7 would not let me turn them on. the troubleshooter says to switch the wireless switch ON 'can be found on the side of laptop' but this model does not have any such switch.

Have tried everything. from re-installing drivers, system restore to a complete system format and no success has been gained.

Help will be greatly appreciated.

Please make sure your model 6930 is correct (check at the bottom of the laptop.) If it is, then there should be buttons on top of the keyboard; please see page 5 of your user manual, as it shows the item labeled number 12, there is a radar dish icon there (see page 10 for the Wireless communication switch/button). Press that turns ON/OFF Wireless.
