Acer aspire 7741z keyboard number pad and function key not working

They worked perfectly fine until my companies IT guy logged in remotely to set me up a new account with a VPN. After we rebooted parts of my keyboard stopped working regardless if I hit the number locks key the side numbers don't work anymore. Either does my function key to turn up or down brightness. A few other keys also aren't responding. What can I do to fix this?

Do they work in safe mode,

Restart your laptop press F8 this should take you to a menu for safe mode just asking see if the keyboard is functional on boot up as something maybe conflicting afterwards.
