Hey,

I have an Acer Aspire One A0751H that's been running Windows XP on a HDD.
I've replaced that drive with a 120GB Sandisk SSD and I'm trying to install Windows 7 from an external DVD.

I select the custom install path and select the single unallocated partition for installation.
It works fine up to the point where it says "Copying Windows files (0%)..." where it hangs.
No progress, cursor freezes, no response.

The only other change I've made to the machine is to upgrade the RAM to 2GB of Corsair.
I've disabled all other boot devices in bios (no floppy drive)

I've seen other A0751H running Windows 7 on SSD's so I know it can work.
Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Hi there,

Did you successfully install the SSD at the end?

I'm thinking to revive this old slow netbook and replace the HDD with SSD, but I would like to confirm if it's worth to replace it with regards to speed/performance..... as you know that this netbook won't even show youtube video smoothly.... 🙁

Please let me know

- Good day i have same netbook aspire one A0751h. Replaced it with SSD and cannot install windows 7 (hangs).. probably issue with IDE to AHCI SATA which i have no switch in my BIOS. Tried your suggestion in installing windows on SSD using a desktop and it installed completely but when i placed the SSD back to the netbook.. windows 7 loads but immediately blue screen of death appears the reboots. any more suggestions sir?

I could install windows 7 in a Acer Aspire One AO751h with an m4 ssd ct128m4ssd2 Disk.

The steps that I followed were:

- Boot the netbook with a partition manager (like gparted).
- Delete, create and format (ntfs) the 2 needed partitions for windows 7 (one reserved for the system and another for disk c: )
- Boot the netbook with windows 7 disk and select c: partition to install. Don't format it.
- Wait for process finish.

PROBLEMS.

- After de installation, windows 7 detect that the disk has errors and force an scan disk (chkdsk). CHKDSK repair the errors but in the next boot more erros are detected.

- When i try to install programs I obtein error with temp folder

I don't find the solutions for this errors yet.
If someone find it, please report it.

(Sorry for my bad english)
