Having problems trying to fix/diagnose my old laptop...

https://notebookspec.com/notebook/4790-acer-aspire-v3-571g-73614g1tma.html

Laptop started acting up 3 years ago, turning off by itself, sometimes starting and sometimes not, until finally it stopped displaying anything altogether. It charges with charging light. Hdd light briefly flashes when I turn on the laptop. Fan briefly starts for 2 seconds. I can't hear the hard drive working. There's no bios screen.

Things I've tried:

Hard reset by holding power button
Fn + f5 to toggle display
Plugging it into an external display
Bought new battery and charger
Tried both ram sticks in different slots
Replaced cmos battery
Tried unplugging hard drive and powering on

Opened it up and the power ribbon flex cable is all cracked from applying too much force on the power button. But it still powers up the laptop - could this be the problem... possibly shorting out the laptop?

Could it be a corrupt bios?
Is it common for 2 memory sticks to become faulty at the same time?

I kinda think it's a motherboard cpu problem at this point :(

Any help much appreciated, cheers.

This:

"Opened it up and the power ribbon flex cable is all cracked from applying too much force on the power button. "

Cracks are likely causing intermittent power disconnects and the the subsequent power losses are, in turn , causing other problems that lead to corrupted and damaged files.

And it all continues to get worse - especially for an aging laptop.

Start by replacing the power ribbon flex cable.
