Acer Battery still lit when shutdown

Acer aspire 5735z. Even though the battery is fully charged and the laptop is shutdown .Why would the light not go out? I HAVE JUST PUT A NEW BATTERY IN and don't know what is causing this , can anyone help please?

YES the power green light goes out but the battery green light stays on even when the laptop is shutdown.
The battery light only goes out when I unplug the power adapter.

This is the way it should work, the battery green light indicate the level of your battery when the adapter is connected, green for a full charge, If the battery is charging, the color will be amber and it will charge only if the adapter is connected. The light shows you the status of the battery.

Sorry, but I have 2 OTHER LAPTOPS-Asus and Samsung and the light goes out when fully charged when the laptops are shutdown.
I must admit I don't know if the Acer does or doesn't turn off. but it looks more of a fault - not the normal situation to me

Even if the adapter is connected to the Asus and Samsung? What can I say, all laptops I have when they are plugged in, the battery light indicates its status, even if the laptop is turned off. I'm referring of the light on the front panel (7).

It must vary from brand to brand, as there is nothing lit on my MSI laptop when it is shutdown but still plugged in and the battery is charged.
