Blame your mother for the delay. 8)
Watch your toung, your gonna get booted.

Tongue* ;). Again, he didn't kill your dog .

Action_Man's mom could be "driving" the UPS "Truck" and it "got delayed" due to "unknown circumstances", so don't judge .

It performs pretty poorly compared to other high-end notebooks.
Explanation is simple: The Acer Ferrari line has a Booh!rion built in while other high-end notebooks got Pentium M/Core Duo which - of course - is way ahead of Booh!rion.

Actually, these notebooks perform pretty well. I had the oppurtunity to use one of these recently and I was rather impressed. I have an older Acer notebook (Travelmate 2200) with a Celeron D in it and it has been one of the best notebooks I've ever owned. I wish I would've waited to pick up one of these AMD Ferraris though as, they are just plain cool.

I don't know how well they stand up to the Intel Core duo but, all I can say is, the Acer Ferrari is one sweet machine.

This laptop is garbage, It is not fair to compare against Yonah. You would figure with Ferrari name it would be a high performance machine.

Side note, Asus is coming out with the Intel based Lamborgini laptop.

You are garbage and full of bullsh*t...
Acer Ferrari is nice, i've worked on it(It was a variant with 2.2Ghz Turion64 and 2GB RAM) and i liked it more than I like my notebooks now. Its design and used materials are unique, same as their excelent quallity. Yonahs performance is better than Turion64, but the processor is only 1 part of many that are building the notebook system.
The topic is about Acer Ferrari 4005, not about Intel, Yonah, Asus, Lamburgini and etc.
Hide your fanboyistic stereotypic stupidity in your try to sound like smart IT expert and understand that when people are talking about product with any hardware that is not Intel, that does not mean that they are attacking your love-Intel.
Say something about this notebook, any kind of opinion. Explain why it is garbage, have you seen it, worked on it, and etc.

Wow, hit a soft spot.

For that amount you are paying for name tag. The performance is horrid. It is not my fault  they called it a Ferarri. pointing out the obvious, it lacks in multimedia performance and cpu performance why else would you spend 2K on a laptop? With that name you would expect performance.

Well, the performance of this laptop isn't horrid by any means but, I do agree with one thing and that is, the amount you spend on performance for this range.

If I were to buy a laptop right now and spend that kind of money, I would most certainly buy a Dell XPS widescreen, 9400 core duo upgraded or a Sager widescreen with a better processor (Intel) and the 7800GTX graphics. Yes, I already know that they usually cost a bit more than 2 grand but, I look at it this way, if you've got 2 grand to plop down on a new laptop, chances are you've got a few extra hundred for the premium machine that will perform better.

If you had actually clicked on the link you could have seen that the lowest price is $1549.00, and that is well below the 2K you are saying.

Why do you say the performance is horrid?

Have you ever used it?

If you're gonna attack it at least say where do you get your data from.

FUGGER is a well known Intel twat.

Acer's Ferrari line are one of the best notebooks in market today.
Once dual core Turions arrive, things will get even better since Acer is only committed with AMD to offer these kind of laptops.
If they were "horrid" peroformers (FUGGER's words), then Acer wouldn't continue using Turions.
