Acer laptop vista problems

Hello,
at start up will not allow me to sign on to main profile or administrater profile ...will log on other two profiles and laptop works slow n just horrible ...want to restore n update to newer windows program but wantr to get off pics files i stll have please help

Run your Antivirus scan & download malwarebytes free scanner and run that also. Sounds like you picked up infection (s).

Also, how much RAM does unit have ? If 512mb or less, get more !

If you want to start fresh and make sure you have all of your files, get a new hard-drive for the computer, and keep the original one in an external USB drive enclosure to copy your files from, and for backups.
