4K, lower quality....
Wasted storage space, conversion issues. NO BENEFIT to anybody.
Depends on the resolution, that's what people were saying when DVD's were the standard and HD TV's were first coming out. I remember because i was selling TV at circuit city during college when this was happening. Most people scoffed off HD because DVD's already looked really good.
But now fast forward 8 years, dvd's look terrible on my 55" and HD is the standard.
I'll wait to pass judgement after i see some video. But for now, you're wrong, it is very useful because i have a newborn infant. I take all kinds of 30 second HD video clips which get dumped into my NAS server, which i'll eventually burn onto Blu-Ray or some other future data medium. Then i'll watch it all over again in 18 years. So if it looks better than HD even with high compression, i'd rather take 4K video clips from my phone than 1080.
