So its a slightly worse nexus tablet for more $'s?

Sorry Acer, you get a stamp of disapproval from me.

If you cannot match the price or beat the specs of the Nexus tablet, don't enter the market. The Nexus will have superior software support which will lead your user base to frustration that the "cheaper" device is treated better, and works better.

This has an sd card slot though, but 8GB is plenty of space for the casual crowd, which are the ones spending $200.

not a bad deal imo since it looks like its the google nexus plus micro sd card slot. which you cna then load media to and interchange instead of being limited to what is on the memory when traveling, i think its a win win and were i in the market it would win over a nexus 7 just for the sd slot... i wish my samsung galaxy nexus had a slot for one if it wasn't for the remote access to my home pc the 32 gigs would be full , as it is with pdf's media and aps i am at 25gigs used ... wissh i had ability to remove a memory card to access different media like load all the seasons of a show i want to watch and keep in that card till done then go to the next show

The HDMI output is another huge plus that makes this worth considering for the price. The only thing that's really "worse" about this is the display resolution. 1024x600 is pretty standard for most 7" tablets, but it's not bad either.

"which weighs just .08 pound"

I think you meant 0.8 pounds.

This is disappointing, 7" screen? Come on, there are plenty out there, wish Acer had gone for some real innovation with an 8" or 9" screen.
