Acer V287K 28-Inch 4K IPS Monitor Drops to $199 at Newegg

This is not a 160hz monitor. According to Acer's website:
Vertical Frequency

40 Hz to 60 Hz - DisplayPort
40 Hz to 60 Hz - HDMI
It's also listed on NewEgg as 60hz. Perhaps it was incorrectly listed as 160hz earlier or someone misread the 2160 pixels with the 60hz.

Even at 60hz it's a decent deal. $200 is definitely mainstream. Would like to see 4k finally get adopted as the defacto resolution, at least for non-gaming.

Well... In particular with laptops, 4K takes (a bit) more battery charge, and the difference isn't visible to most users. And then there is also the issue about how much a laptop (via docking station) or business desktop PC can handle. E.g. when a business got themselves "quite recently" laptops with 10th gen Intel i7 vPro, according to Intel, the integrated graphics there can handle 4K@60 at max. And not sure, how it would look like with two or even three 4K monitors at that. Also 2023 released iGPUs do not seem to be pushing it much in such regard.

So yeah, would be nice. I wouldn't count on it becoming the standard resolution for PC screens soon though. But for my personal rig, I might get me a 4K monitor like that soon - connected via MB and iGPU of the CPU, in a dual-monitor setup, where 60Hz is good enough for chat window, watching 4K movie, browsing, and such.

As far as I know, the Acer V287K tops out at 60Hz so I’m pretty sure the 160Hz is a typo, but the author implies that he misunderstood that 160Hz is the actual refresh rate which isn’t the case.
Also, apparently this deal is a US only deal unfortunately. Newegg.ca listed it at CND$331 but Amazon.ca has it for cheaper at CND$276
