Hello all,

Thank you in advance for any help and time given. I spent a few hours trying to resolve this problem before asking for any help but have been unsuccessful.
Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated. Jay

A few days ago, my daughters Acer Laptop stopped booting up properly. It now goes into a loop between first screen:

Default boot device missing or boot failed.
Insert recovery media and hit any key
Then select 'Boot Manager' to choose a new boot device or to boot recovery media

I hit [ok] and then it takes me to

Boot Manager / Boot Options Menu. One option given for the installed HDD.

Choose HDD option and it takes me back to above Default boot device missing or boot failed.

This is a continuous loop that I cannot get out of. Only exception that I have found is that I can get into the BIOS [F2]and can modify the boot priority order to allow for a USB drive if needed however the few things I have added to my USB drive have not helped or even been executed by the laptop.

a few reference notes:

Laptop = Aspire A315-41 / Part Number: NX.GY9AA.005 / Windows 10 / 64 bit / BIOS v1.06 /CPU AMD Ryzen 3 2200U with Radeon Vega Mobile GFX

-Power while tapping [F2] = BIOS (Primary HDD is reported) (Cannot change to Legacy option)
-Power while tapping [F12] = Boot Menu (which is in a loop with 'Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed'
-Power while tapping [F10] = goes directly to 'Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed'
-Power while holding [ALT] + tapping [F10] = goes directly to 'Default Boot Device Missing or BootFailed' Acer logo pops on screen for less
than a second. (Also kept fingers pressed on Alt+F10)
-Power while holding [SHIFT] + tapping [F8] = goes directly to 'Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed'
-Repeatedly turn laptop on/off 3x times at logo screen. Tried but logo screen only on for split second before going to = 'Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed'
-Unable to change bios settings from uefi to legacy. Uefi is only option in bios.-Cannot get laptop to boot into repair mode-Cannot get laptop to boot into repair
-The HDD is reported in the BIOS setup.
-Do not have any recovery discs or recovery USB drives. The laptop did not come with either of these products and I failed to make any prior to this issue.
-The Acer logo pops on the screen for a split second before the error screen appears. Not enough time to press any important buttons while it is on the screen.
-I created a Win 10 recovery USB (from Microsoft website) but cannot get laptop to recognize it after changing boot priority from HDD to USB or at any other time.
