[SOLVED] Acer X34 GS white lines

Brand new Acer X34gs getting these white horizontal lines across the bottom 3rd of the screen. It even happens just turning on the power to the monitor with the pc turned off. Sometimes they go away then return. I tried two different Displayport cables with the same result. Re-connected my Dell 2716DG with same cables and no problem. Any ideas before I drive back to return it?

If the issue happens when not even connected to a computer, it is a monitor defect.

I would first try resetting settings in the monitors on screen menu. If that does not resolve the issue, return the monitor since it is defective.
