Acer XB270HU perfect?

Solution
Quality Control or not, I would not buy Asus because of their questionable dead pixel policy. Asus claims that 10 or under dead pixels is 'normal' for a panel and will not provide warranty replacement or service for anything less. Acer is very, very good at providing warranty service and replacement panels when compared to Asus. I don't think Acer is a 'terrible' company at all. XB270HU is a great panel but is not perfect.

I've seen lots of owners and purchaser's of the panel with excessive backlight bleed/IPS Glow. However, the panel I received (July) is pretty perfect and has little to no BLB/IPS Glow.

Asus and Acer do not make the panel, mind you. AU Optronics is the manufacuturer.

"The new AU Optronics panel, the M270DAN02.3, is...
There is no better gaming monitor today than XB270HU.
But, XB270HU is not perfect. I is expensive, does not support 3D-Vision and ...pay attention... Acer's QC for XB270HU is extremely bad.
The chance that you will get defective monitor is quite high. (Dead pixels, backlight bleeding, etc.)
You might have to RMA the monitor several times until you get a fully working one.
If you can get a working one, this is indeed the best current available gaming monitor.
I enjoyed my XB270HU, if you want to know.

If you're using a NVIDIA card then yeah, it's the best monitor for NVIDIA. If you're using an AMD card, then it's called MG279Q. They both use the same exact panel, so picture quality will be the same. Also, judging by the amount of people that got problems with their XB270HU, I really wouldn't buy one, and support a terrible company. That is not acceptable, no matter how good their product is on paper...

I'd say go for the Acer over the Asus.

The thing is that I have an AMD card but might change to NVIDIA soon.

Does the monitor work if you plug it in to a AMD card or does it have to be NVIDIA?

I don't really want to base my graphics card choice depending on the monitor.
