ACPI x64 based pc

Hello,
I do not know very much about computers so here is my question. I loaded an antivirus program onto my computer and you had the choice of downloading for a 32 bit or 64 bit. Because my device manager showed APCI x64 - pc I chose 64 bit, now I am having second thoughts, so did I make the right choice or should I have chosen the 32 bit option? Thank you very much for any assistance you provide.

It depends on which version of Windows you have installed. Most all PC's today are 64 bit, meaning they can handle a 64 bit OS, but a 32 bit OS and 32 bit programs as well. To see which version of windows you have right click on my computer and go to properties.
