Actiontec ECB2500C MoCA Adapter Not Working

I am trying to use an existing Coax cable in my room to provide internet to a store bought router which runs into a PC directly. The Comcast modem is in another room.

When I have the Actiontec ECB2500C all connected (meaning Coax in, Ethernet out to router), the only lights that come on are power and ethernet, no Coax.

I have tried flipping the small switch that says Config Run but I have no idea what that does other than invert the lights (making Coax and Ethernet turn on but no Power)

There are no splitters or anything like that in the mix, it's a direct Coax cable with an extender that goes from the Comcast box outside to my room.

Any help would be great, thanks

Solution
You understand that everything has to connect to the comcast modem? See were the ethernet goes from the moca to the router. If the coax in your room doesnt go to the router its not going to work. The coax goes from your room to the outside is the issue.

Okay I suppose I was just confused. So to be clear:

- I need a total of two adapters
- one needs to be connected to my modem in the other room (wall coax to adapter, then to modem, with ethernet cable from adapter to modem)
- the other adapter needs to be connected to the wall coax in my room, and then run ethernet from adapter to my computer?

The only change here is router, vs modem.
Terminology matters.

Right sorry, by "modem" I am referring to what Comcast gave us that provides us with internet and a wireless signal. By "router" I am referring to what I have in my room that we purchased at a Brand Smart so that we have WiFi on the other side of the house.

I guess I'm a little unsure on what the difference is between router and modem?

Modem - MOdulator/DEModulator
This is what translates the signal from what the ISP provides on the wire coming in, to something your PC or a router can inderstand.

Router
This 'routes' the traffic between networks. Your PC or LAN and the modem/ISP/internet.
It also provides multiple internal IP addresses. 192.168.1.xxx
It can also provide WiFi to your wireless devices.
With consumer devices, more accurately a 'gateway', but router is just fine.

Very often, the modem and the router are in the same physical box.
Like what you have.
If you have more than one LAN port on the back, you can call it a router.
