Hey everyone,

I have tons or peripherals ( with some requiring 2 ports due to passthrough, e.g. keyboard, mousepad, the ROG Throne...). Port shortage is not an issue since I always have higher-end mobos in my builds and pay attention that there are enough USB ports. The amount of cabling is bothering me however, so I was thinking of getting a hub like the one pictured and placing it under the desk, close to the peripherals:

I know that latest-gen USB is speedy, but I still have some concerns. Can a large amount of peripherals connected via a hub cause the data transfer rates to drop? What comes to my mind is maybe being on a video call when some scheduled backups starts writing to an external HDD... What are your thoughts?

My recommendation would be use low bandwidth devices on a hub and high bandwidth devices directly connected.
