Add a remote to a CD player

I have a CD player without a remote. I would like to add one to it. Does a kit like this exist

(Red wires come from Play output on external board to the play button solder points on the players board) The remote links to the board

(Obviously there would be more buttons, I just did play for demo purposes

yes there is a way to have a closing circuit over IR. I know someone who made one in the early 80ies ! But there was no use of it !
now there would be ! ;-)

Check out Velleman.eu or ~usa.com, they sell kits to make yourself !

If you want to do this for fun or educational reasons then fine but given what it will cost you either buy a replacement remote or a new player for a lot less.
