added 1 fan temp went up

i added 1 more fan to my computer on the side (cooler master jetflow 120mm)cause it is summer and i am in Australia and outside right now for the past couple of days has been around 40 degrees and my gpu (asus gtx 650 1gb) was getting around 60 degrees under some stress and that is to high for me and my cpu (i5 3330 @3.0ghz) was reaching 50 degrees idle which is to high for me and when i added the fan the average temps went up about 8 degrees, could this just be my room temp is too high( i only have a small fan in my room )

is the fan sucking or blowing? It should be sucking air out of the case...

Where did you put it? What orientation? Like kyzarvs said it may be doing the opposite thing than it should be doing.

Other thing to remember is that you will only aver get to (ambient + x degrees) - if you can't change the ambient then you need to concentrate on making x as small as possible. Room fans don't change ambient - they improve air circulation, which helps sweat evaporate on your skin which feels cooler - electronics don't have the same benefit.

i had it on the side of my case blowing in but i had it blowing and when i changed it to sucking it went a lot cooler...thx for the help
