Hey guys,

I'm planning on adding a graphics card to this build of a friends

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/WFZjK8

His price range is around £120 - £130, and originally I was going to get an R9 270x 2gb, but I noticed there is a R9 280 3gb for £132 and was going to get that instead. The extra VRAM isn't really needed but nice to have and seeing as it's not much more expensive than a 270x, or cheaper in some cases, I thought it was a no brainer.

That being said, I don't have too much experience with computers having only built 2 so far, and so I think I might be overlooking something. Basically i'd just like to know if everything would be compatible and I'm good to go, or if not, what am I missing ?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Zarugal, I had thought that myself about the PSU. Originally, the build was just for low-end games that would run fine on the Integrated graphics on the i5-4440, and some Minecraft and such, so I may have skimped on the PSU a little.

The problem is he can't afford to buy both right now, and there'd be no point in buying a new PSU if he can't buy the GPU aswell. Whilst it's probably far from ideal, would you say it'd at least be able to handle it for a short while until he can upgrade ?

Never saw the other comments, thanks guys. No overclocking and I dont think the mobo can anyway (could be wrong lol). As long as it can run Dying Light on playable settings, he'll be happy.

Mark, you basically answer my question on the CX, and as long as it'll run for now that's good enough, although I still plan on adding a better PSU in the future anyway, just to be safe.

Best answer to Mark the1 for putting my mind at ease, but thanks to everybody who replied, really appreciated.
