I am trying to use two nearly identical sets of 4Gx2 DDR3 RAM, a 1600 pair and an 1866 pair. Both GSKILL RIPJAWS X, in fact the 1866 pair is even base clocked at 1600.
Both work when installed alone in both channels 1/3 and 2/4, however when I try to install both sets, filling all four slots, the PC no longer boots. No display output, no power to USB etc. I have tried resetting CMOS to no avail.

If you have any idea what is going on I would be very thankful.

Computer specs are as follows:
Gigabyte GA-z97x-gaming5
i5 4690k
Rx 580
booting from a 240gb SSD

Edit: The ram in question

Do you have newest BIOS for motherboard?

Its hard enough to get 2 sets that are identical down to every stat to work with each other without having slightly different sticks. The only guaranteed way to get 4 sticks to work together is buy a pack of 4 sticks, as they are tested and matched to each other before you get them.
