So here's my situation. I'm trying to add a second router as a wifi/ethernet booster, but have a couple simple questions.

Now I know that they need seperate default gateways, and I have done that. My issue is that I do not know which router I need to enable AP mode on, the primary or the secondary. Secondly, I want both the routers to be broadcasting the same wifi (I want one netgearxx instead or two different connections)

Solution
The device that hooks to the ISP must be the router. The other device you want to run as a AP. No matter what SSID you use the network will still be the same when you are running as a AP. If they are the same or different is mostly personal preference. Different you must manually connect to what you want. The same the device will in theory pick the strongest signal and connect. Roaming between them tends to not work well because the end devices are limited in their ability to know multiple networks exist.

Clarification: when about to enable AP mode on the secondary router (not sure if this is the correct one to enable AP mode on yet) it says my wireless name will be different than the primary. Now do I just change the name? or will it still be two separate networks?
