Adding more heat pipes to laptop CPU cooler.

Hello,

I upgraded the CPU on my laptop and now it gets too hot. I want to add more heat pipes to the CPU cooler on my laptop to help cool it down. I found some straight flat heat pipes online.

There isn't much room to fit them on to the cooler though. So, I want to know is it ok to attach a heat pipe to another heat pipe and then attach the other end to the heatsink. Will this work effectively?

The main problem is packaging. How would you fit them in the laptop?

The second thing is you would need some sort of heatsink for the heatpipe.

The 3rd is it would still be very inefficient without direct contact to IHS.

For similar reasons that the Linus Tech Tips experiment in making a sketchy CPU cooler didn't work: cooling systems are designed from the bottom up to work together, not assembled in Dr. Frankenstein fashion, and have tight tolerances. You could compensate someone for this by having a massive heatsink outside the case, but then you'd have a poorly running desktop instead of a laptop. Anything small enough to fit inside your laptop's case would almost certainly result in the existing heat transfer being less efficient, defeating the purpose of the whole exercise.
