Hi everyone, I'm currently using 2x4GB ADATA XPG AX4U3000W4G16-BWZ (DDR4-3000) on Gigabyte X99-SLI motherboard. I'm thinking to add 2x4GB more RAM however I wasn't able to find my RAM in the store. The specification of this AX4U3000W4G16-BWZ is CL16-16-16, 1.35V. To my understanding, CL means Cas Latency however I'm confused on what is the timing of this particular RAM? Also isn't Cas Latency usually reported in a single value (not multiple values like how it was specified by ADATA)?

I have looked at several other brands, one that caught my interest is CORSAIR Vengeance (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-233-829&cm_sp=BTSComponent&StorageSteals-_-0712-0718-_-19-117-561-_-NA) with
Timing 15-17-17-35
Cas Latency 15
Voltage 1.35V

Will this CORSAIR RAM be compatible with my setup? Or is there any other brand that can work together with my setup?

Thank you!

Solution
Any time you add more memory it might not play nice together, that's why they sell them in tested matched sets. In general you need to get the same speed, timings, and voltage to have the best chance of being able to get it yo work together.
Cas latency is the first one (16), other latencies are not important. As long as latencies and voltage are similar (less is better), ram should be of similar speed. But it is usually hard to know how well different ram will work together. The only thing you can do is check for bad reviews to dismiss some.

These x99 are very picky when it Comes to high Speed and many RAM modules. I never found diffrent Memory modules working even with same Speed and CAS. Try to get exactly the same modules. And even then, it is best to get all modules in one package like quad channel packages.
