Question adding new ram with lower latency

Hello,

my current ram: Corsair Vengeance, DDR3, 8 GB(2x4GB), 1600MHz, CL8 (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8) // working at 8-8-8-24 with dual-channel and XMP 1.2
ram i want to add:
Crucial 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600mhz PC3 CT102464BA160B.C16FER // working at 11-11-11-28

pc spec:
cpu - i7 3770k

Mobo - Asrock z77 extreme 4

Here's a problem, i need 16 GB of ram and my pc is reading this slower stick but i have blue screen after around 2minuts of using (nfts.sys error) - pc freezing or rebooting
I've noticed that latency of corsairs changed to 9-9-9-27 after adding new ram

My first idea is to lower corsairs to match crucial in bios @ 11-11-11-28 or turn off xmp ? but really i have no clue

I'm able to buy Patriot Viper 2x8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9, for decent price but i really want to fix this issue if not for performance then just for myself.
thank you for any help!

A motherboard must manage all ram with the same settings of voltage and timings.
With two different specs, the speed and timings were changed to what seemed to work.
You should put the two 4gb sticks in one channel, and the 8gb stick in the other channel to get dual channel operation.
With a z77 motherboard, you might need to increase the ram voltage to make things work.

Run memtest86 or memtest86+
They boot from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download them here:
If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.

Of course, buying a proper matched 2 x 8gb kit is the best solution.
