[SOLVED] Adding NVMI storage to 2010 Mac Pro with pci 2.0 slots

Mac Pro has PCI 2.0 x 16 lane slots (I have one free.)

Since I'm 2 generations behind, it makes little sense to put in Gen 4 capable SSD's in it.

What recommendations for Gen 2 drives?

Often slower speeds come with some combination of lower price or large size.

Thoughts?

Whatever HDD is in there, replace with a 2.5" SATA III SSD.

Any NVMe conglomeration is simply a waste of time and money.
