Adding second router to landlords network

I just moved into a new inlaw apartment that includes free wifi. The apartment is located in the basement of my landlord's house and I have terrible wifi reception because his modem and router are located on the top floor, 2 stories above me. Running an Ethernet cord is impossible.

I was wondering if there was a way to set up a router downstairs so I can have better wifi reception and the ability to plug my Playstation and computer in through Ethernet.

There is a coaxial plug and cable box downstairs. And if possible, I would like to do it without bothering him because he is elderly and knows nothing about technology.

You may be able to use a MoCa connection. (best approach)

Or use a power line adapter (second best)

Additionally, you may also be use a wifi extender/repeater w/ ethernet port. (least favorite)
