Additional HDD causing major slowdown

I had 250gb Western Digital blue one. It ran out of space so i bought 500gb western digital blue one . I selected Raid On in mobo. But WIndows boot has gone to 1:30minutes from 30 seconds.
Games on 250gb hd work fine but stutters which were not before are there now. But on the new 500gb stutters on games and movies also lag.

What could be casing this?

The difference and issue i think might be the sata cable. The one with my old 250g sata cable is of good quality but with 500gb it looks very cheap because i got it for free.

What does "I selected Raid On in mobo" mean?

i selected raid mode on in motherboard bios

You should only do that with 2 same size drives. And two that are blank - else they will be wiped.

I had the same slow boot problem when plugging in a second drive. The way I solved it was deleting previous restore points on all drives, try that to see if boot times improve.

Computer--System Properties--System Protection--Configure--Move Slider to left--Delete-Apply

Didnt help. returned it. getting 500gb western digital black one for 7more dollars
