i purchased a mid tower atx case from this place. they were advertised as user friendly etc and a lot of websites were babbling about how good the cases were. the first thing that ticked me off was the un-standard pegs for mounting the mobo. instead they had these little square things you pop in. some of them were already put in for you, of course not where i wanted so i have to move some around and what a pain that was cause they dont seem to be made to take back out. and now for the next thing, the rear panel(like where the usb/paralel ports are) was a big pain. the punch out things did not wanna come out! i tried yanking with pliers, poking with my screw driver and everything, but finally they came out. i might as well of made my own dang cut out. after i finally get everything all set i put in my mobo tray and secure it and goto plug in my power to the mobo but the case is to tight i cant even plug it in without loosening the tray again. and it was also smashing some of my other cables. all i have to say is stay away from there cases. im writing the morons now to get an rma and send this piece of junk back.

Which model was your case?

Did you get the new PIV MB tray option?

but the case is to tight i cant even plug it in without loosening the tray again. and it was also smashing some of my other cables
I don't get this part... how could loosening the tray be necessary to "plug it in"??? And how could it smash cables? I just don't get the geometry here...

I'm curious because I'm about to buy one (a 7890), and everything that I've read is really positive about addtronics.

I have done tens of hours of research into PC cases, and I have never found anything bad said about Addtronics until now. Almost everything I've seen said that the Addtronics cases are the best cases on the market. The Supermicro cases are made by Addtronics, and those are considered excellent as well. I'm not letting one bad recomendation counter the hundreds of good ones I've seen. I'm still going to put my new system in an Addtronics 7896A.

i have the 3890a
once you have the tray put in its a fairly tight fit. i believe the problem is the case isnt tall enough. the framework for the case is so close to the motherboard im not even able to reach behind and plug in the power to my mobo.

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense now... I didn't think that the motherboard would be up behind the power supply; I've been going with 24" or taller cases for a while now, so I forgot about the problems like spending an hour looking for a screw which dropped between the x and the y...

(After all the DRPC posts in the last couple of weeks bashing this or that case company, I am pretty skeptical now, so I'm glad to have the details.)
