Okay, all of the talk about HTML5 taking over and Flash dying is simply ridiculous. HTML5 and Flash are two totally different animals that cannot be compared equally. Flash/Flex are utilized to build simple to complex web applications (not just video streaming and the watching of YouTube, Vimeo, etc).
HTML5 has some really sweet additions for web developers but, it's going to take the web browser application developers to truly make the HTML5 standard work for the world. The combination of HTML5/CSS3/AJAX/PERL is awesome but even 5+ years down the road from now will still be unable to surpass the need/portability of tools such as Flash/Flex & silverlight.
Furthermore, Adobe is smart, if Apple won't support flash (unless the FEDS declare antitrust) then, GOOGLE will be more than happy to open its doors with Android/CHROME-OS and the host of companies that utilize its open-source architecture. Then, only time will tell.
