[citation][nom]Tindytim[/nom]Eh, no huge loss.I'm excited for the day that flash dies, mostly because it's hugely inefficient, is reliant of proprietary software, and needs a third party application installed on your system to run. HTML 5 and SVG are the future.I'm happy Apple made the decision, however we all know it wasn't well intention. But it still may sway public opinion, so yay.[/citation]
Unfortunately HTML 5 and SVG just won't cut it when it comes to games for the web, especially with the rise of the social gaming platform. Javascript is way too inefficient for the tasks required by games (JS was flawed from the beginning). Not only that, but Javascript is freely visible, providing no protection for source code whatsoever, which gives developers no incentive to use it to develop games because anyone can modify the code and cheat.
The only thing HTML 5 has going for it is video and audio playback, drag and drop, and better standards.
