This article was written on an iSomething. What kind of solution do you expect? A program that displays flash but uses half the processing power? Let's not be so Apple fans when we are writing news. I bet there is Apple software out there that needs and uses more than 10% processing power and I also bet that battery life is shorter when running that program.

Unfortunately for all of the battery concerned flash users, Lynch didn't discuss any sort of solution to the problem shown with the Macbook Air.

I can't believe no one has stated this yet - How could Adobe optimize Flash for OSX/IOS when Steve Jobs basically has Adobe's in handcuffs? If Steve allowed Adobe to work and do what Adobe can so that user's can have the best Flash experience (Like in Windows) on Apple's OS'es, this wouldn't even be a story.

Also, its a selling point for Apple. Lets just say, put Flash(fully optimized for MACs/iOS)on all Apple's OS'es, guranteed the battery life will be on par with Windows or maybe just a bit better but not by much. Steve knows this.

Biggest reasons why Flash is not on Apple OS'es:
1) Free Flash contents and games which kills Apple's AppStore
2) Flash would make Apple mobile product battery life normal like all other flash enabled devices in the world.
3) This goes hand in hand with #2 - Flash enabled Apple Products will have to use more beefier hardware - CPU, GPU, etc., which in turn hurts battery power, which in turn, defeats Apple's "Best" battery claim, which in turn would cost Apple more $$$ to produce.

/end rant

I performed my own study and found that my Dell laptop use more battery life when using iTunes and Quicktime. Is there anything that can be done to fix these resource hogs?

LOL 8 pc's here don't have flash anymore, + it stops the constant hd activity when firefox is open that looks like some virus is deleting 90% of your hard drive has all of a sudden stopped when anything Adobe was uninstalled.

Maybe Steve Snobs has a point there and here I thought it was Firefox's fault.

exactly, saying some other technology uses more power isn't really relevant to the problem but an attempt to escape discussing the subject
