so is ADSL with only 0.5Mbit/s upload speed
(500 kbit/s ) , is it good enough for online gaming also with users are with you in the network ?
and if not can Qos help ? and is 4G network will be better in this case ?

Thanks

For many games it will be barely enough. Be very sure noting else is running. You likely can not use voice software but it all depends on the game. Games have gotten bigger over the years. Things like world of warcraft used to run on 56k dialup modems.

Some companies actually tell you what the minimum required connection is. If you know someone or have access to a faster internet connection you could test. While the game is running look in the network tab of the resource monitor. You can see the traffic going to the ip addresses of the game server. You may need to add together a couple of feeds to get the total rate. Be careful some of those numbers are in BYTES/sec and other in BITS.

I remember seeing some...

I remember seeing some game that had the ability to set the rate higher than the defualt I don't remember why but it used 1.5mbit/sec when you set it to that mode.

QoS does not magically create bandwidth. All it does is decide who does not get bandwidth. So lets say 2 people wanted to use the connection to play games. Since both will not fit someone will not be allowed to play games. The QoS could be configuerd to only allow 1 person but it is simpler to just have a agreement. It is mostly being careful to know what is running and not overload it. You a person are much smarter than any QoS software in known what can and can not be used and when.

Cell networks there is no way to say for sure. It depends mostly on how good the signal is and how loaded the cell tower are. This is a thing you must actually test to know unfortantly. The problem is not the upload or download rates on mobile broadband. Like any wireless connection the latency/ping times will radomly get varation because of other people using the services and many other environmental factors. If you have a really strong signal it can work very well for games but you will still from time to time get a lag spike in your game.
The largest issue for most people is can you afford to use mobile broadband. Most have data rate caps on them. Games do not use much bandwidth but they use it constantly so it adds up over time. Of course you have to be careful when you download install with some games being over 100gbyte now days. It could cost a fortune on providers that charge as much as $10/gbyte

Most games don't use much bandwidth while you're in the game. When you turn on network stats for most competitive PC games, they end up using <20KB/s which is like 160kbps. So 500kbps is fine for 1 person. If other people in the house are just surfing the internet or using netflix, then a good QOS like FQ_Codel will keep your gaming packets in check, lag should be minimal.

The problems with 0.5mbps comes up when other people in the house start uploading to the cloud(like onedrive backups) or doing ZOOM/SKYPE/MEETUP calls for school etc... Then 0.5mbps upload is no where near enough. Your bandwidth will be fully saturated and you'll get lag no matter what.

4G Celluar will give you more upload bandwidth, but latency will always be very high due to the nature of celluar. So gaming will always suck 100% of the time with cellular.

Sign up for STARLINK beta notifications. It looks very promising for rural areas. Latency is very low (20-40ms) and bandwidth is excellent(50-150mbps). By the end of next year, they should have good coverage of the entire united states and some parts of the rest of the world. So far, there are no data caps, and it's nothing like traditional satellite internet which is over 400ms of latency since starlink is in low orbit.

People in beta in the washington state area are showing off the system on youtube if you want to see how well it works.
