Question advanced system monitor

hi, im looking for a program that monitors and logs anything i install or run on my PC.
it should be able to see what gets installed, where, the registry it modifies, everything on programs i install or run (.exes)

I do not believe that exists, except possibly Event Viewer (part of the OS)

What is the reasoning for this?


Also note that the Registry is being written to constantly. Just moving the mouse around generates writes.

it exists, i`ve heard of people who test new software this way, see what gets installed, where, what gets modify etc

I have heard stories of Bigfoot and the Chupacabra. IF something like this does exist it would likely be an in house program not a commercially available program.

Move a window
Save a file

Thousands of writes per minute.

The problem with tracking registry changes is the sheer volume of them. You can at best track recent changes through something like Process Monitor.

For figuring out what programs got installed and where, that's what the Control Panel utility is for.

Then you should ask whoever you heard that from to ask whoever they say tests software that way to provide you with the name of a program because as far as I know, one does not exist, and I've looked. And the REASON one doesn't exist, is because you'd almost daily have a file that completely ate your storage resources with it's log file AND because it would significantly impact your system resources because it would ALWAYS be logging, non-stop, any time the OS was running.
