I am building a computer that I plan to use for gaming but also other stuff like video editing and the likes. I am buying everything from pccasegear because I'm in Australia and its convienient.
This is a list of the parts I'm thinking of getting with the prices in AU$

Computer case: Silverstone Sugo SG11 Small Form Factor Chassis Black $89

RAM: Team Group Elite Plus TPKD38G1600HC1101 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 $62

SSD: SanDisk SSD Plus 120GB 2.5in SSD $69

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003 $75

Graphics card: Gigabyte GeForce GT 730 2GB $89

Optical drive: Already have one from older computer

Processor: Intel Core i5 4690 $329

Motherboard: ASRock B85M-PRO3 Motherboard $99

Power supply: Silverstone Strider Essential ST50F-ES230 500W Power Supply $59

Monitor: My TV

Keyboard and mouse: Already have them

Operating system: Windows 10 (will probably buy windows 8 from a local shop and upgrade for free to 10)
This comes to a total of around ~$900AU

My plan is to be able to upgrade the RAM and Graphics card in the future.
I would like to ask the experts out there:
Whether this should all work together,
Whether it will all fit in the case (I did a little research on this and I'm pretty sure it will)
Will the 500W PSU be enough?
And also any tips or hints you could lend me :) If you want to reccomend a different part please keep in mind that I would really like to keep the build under $900.

Thankyou so much to anyone who has the time to help me out :)

Congrats on the plans for a new build friend. I'm sure others will provide a more exhaustive part picker list...but I'd recommend the following changes:

1. Skip the SSD...your 1TB drive will be great for the time being, and when money permits you can grab the SSD (which I fully recommend, but not when it takes much needed funds from the GPU)

2. Go with an AMD CPU (AM3+ Board). The i5's are great (I recently owned a 3570K, loved it), but I'd still recommend using that money towards a better balanced GPU. [http://www.mwave.com.au/product/amd-fx8320-black-edition-8core-socket-am3-cpu-processor-aa18166]. You can find a range of motherboard (AM3+) options around 100AU to keep the mobo budget similar.

Just by these small compromises...

Just by these small compromises, you'll have an extra 172AU to put towards a 16GB DDR3 kit and/or improved GPU.

My personal vote would be to put all the saved money (plus 20AU or so more) and get yourself the GPU you'll really want now

GTX 960: [289.99] http://www.mwave.com.au/product/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-960-windforce-oc-2gb-video-card-ab67474

AMD r9 370 [259.99] http://www.mwave.com.au/product/sapphire-radeon-r7-370-nitro-oc-4gb-video-card-ab64116

Good Luck Mate!

PS: 500w PSU will be plenty :)

Thanks for your response :)
If i changed my setup to this:

Computer case: Silverstone Sugo SG11 Small Form Factor Chassis Black $89

RAM: G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-16GBNT 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 $139

SSD: None

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST1000DM003 $75

Graphics card: ....

Optical drive: Already have one from older computer

Processor: AMD FX-6300 6 Core Black Edition Processor $159 (I can upgrade cooling in future to overclock)

Motherboard: Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 Motherboard $95

Power supply: Silverstone Strider Essential ST50F-ES230 500W Power Supply $59

This will cost $616, leaving ~$250 to spend on GPU. (but if i can get a good one for less to save $ that is also good)

Would it be better to get a low end 4GB gpu or a Higher end 2GB GPU?
I was looking at Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Dual-X OC 2GB ($179)

Even though this setup has 16GB of RAM its 1333 rather than 1600 is this going to be a big difference?

Thanks again
