EDITED at bottom of post.
I bought a PC from PC Option - 2 main things noted - one, the motherboard I/O connectors on the back where not quite lined up with the back plate. Also, the graphics card appears dead - monitor saying 'No signal'.
PC Option conclude the graphics card is dead and will sort the motherboard too. They said they would collect, repair and return
Anyway, someone has advised me that if I let PC Option repair the system then I throw away my rights to a future refund - is this true?
He basically said
Is this true, or will I still have the right to a refund if it is still not working correctly when it comes back?
Technically, the return of the PC will be inside the original 7 days. I received it yesterday (Friday, 27th).
Any advice on this - currently, I have already agreed to letting them put it right which is the point some people thought I was a bit stupid - especially as the guy who built the system at PC Option has admitted (while phoning me) that he couldn't get the motherboard I/O ports to align properly with the back plate of the system. He advised to just use a screwdriver (the tip covered in foam, etc) in a port to move the ports.
EDIT:
In fact, PC Option have since called me to say I haven't lost my rights - if I am still not happy I can still get a refund.

Right now, you have a legal right to a refund, but if you let them fix it, you just lost your right to a refund. Anything else goes wrong with it, heck even if it's broken when it comes back on Wednesday and you're left hoping they'll do the right thing because your right to a refund went up in smoke
