Planning a new PC to replace a 10 year old 4770. Games still run on the old rig, with a 1650, so Im not looking to play demanding games or preform crazy tasks. I'm looking to build a moderately competent system that'll do most things well for a number of years to come, with a headroom for a GPU upgrade down the road, if necessary. No monitor, sticking with a 24" Full HD unit due to desk space issues, so max resolution 1080P. Microcenter Dallas within range, purchase in the next month or two...so I can play for sales, current unit still runs fine.

Intel Core i5-13400F 2.5 GHz
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
MSI MAG B660 Tomahawk WiFi DDR4 ATX LGA 1700
Corsair Vengence LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL 18
WD Black Sn770 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe X4 NVME
ASRock Phantom Gaming D OC Radeon RX 6800 XT 16 GB
Fractal Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower
Corsair RM750x 750W 80+ Gold Modular ATX
Win 11 Home
be quiet! Pure Wings 2 87 CFM 120 mm Fan (additional case fan)

My concerns/uncertainties focus mainly on the GPU and the MOBO. The GPU's these days are beyond my understanding, so I looking for a good performer with comparatively lower wattage overall. The MOBO kicks up the possible incompatibility issue with older BIOS...would Microcenter be able to help? I don't have an Alder Lake lying around. With the PSU, is 750 safe enough going forward, or pop for the 850 model? Finally, is the CPU enough?

Nice build ^^ ... don't forget to add a 120mm 4-Pin fan to that case for a rear exhaust and I would look at a B760 board so that you don't have to mess with updating the bios in order to run that 13 gen cpu. Maybe something like this ...

Does the Deep Cool have any advantage over the Assassin, other than price?

I appreciate the MoBo recommendation. You’d stick with the 750w PSU?
