I'm in the process of buying parts for a 1440p gaming PC and had a few questions about CPUs. From what I've read so far I understand that the higher the resolution you play on, the more GPU dependent it is and less CPU. I was planning on pairing a 7900xtx with a 98003xd but would this be potentially overkill on the CPU side?
In the UK the preorders for the 9800x3d are at £500 whilst the 7800x3d is sold out everywhere. Are there any other viable alternatives that would yield similar results or are these two cards in a league of their own? I'm open to intel but have read they've been having a few issues recently.
Below is the build I currently have planned but any CPU suggestions/insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
