I'm purchasing discrete GPU for first time.
Till date I have only used integrated GPU (Ryzen 3300).

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: 20-07-2024 or 21-07-2024 (Amazon Prime Day Sale)

PRICE RANGE: ₹25000 (USD 300) to ₹33500 (USD 400)

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT

  1. Training AI models (Tensor Flow and PyTorch)
  2. Computer Vision (opencv and dlib)
  3. Light Gaming (Civilization series, FPS games, Strategy games)
CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: Corsair VS450 450-Watt Power Supply

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
  1. Ryzen 3300G
  2. A320 SH Rev. 2 Motherboard
  3. Samsung 980 NVMe SSD
  4. 1080p ViewSonic Monitor
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:
PARTS PREFERENCES: I'm currently biased towards Nvidea due to CUDA support and as frameworks like Tensor Flow and PyTorch support CUDA acceleration

OVERCLOCKING: No

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

Couple of question
  1. Can someone explain real life performance difference between RTX4060 vs RTX 3060? Its very difficult to judge from posted specs as it seems RTX 3060 is loosing in all comparison.
  2. Is buying overclocked worth the extra price?
  3. Is it worth it to spend extra and get TI card looking at my requirement and specs?
  4. Does board manufacturer like Gigabyte or Zotac or INNO3D matter or is it the same performance?

I'm inclined towards this card: https://amzn.in/d/02pABjjV

What is the difference between

  1. https://amzn.in/d/02pABjjV
  2. https://amzn.in/d/0gTmX6mj
Why is their a price difference?

1| I would look into the RTX4060 between those two.
2| The GPU's off of Nvidia's portfolio/product stack can't be overclocked much. You can do the same at home using MSI's afterburner. Not to be confused with AIB reverse engineered PCB designs and factory overclocked cards.
3| I would but look into the 16GB version of the RTX4060Ti
4| The selling points for those cards would be their cooling solutions and their aesthetics.

How old is the PSU in question? Make and model of your case? Number of fans in said case and their orientation? I wouldn't invest on the above mentioned cards with the PSU listed above. I'd look into a reliably built 550W PSU alongside the GPU purchase(if you're sticking to the RTX4060).

Lastly, the difference between the two cards are the core clocks and the dimensions of the cards;

4060 is newer architecture, so not quite up to speed with the 3060-Ti (which is best bang for buck in its Class)

You can often overclock it yourself. But it's better to go Ti instead.

Card manufacture is only going to be Nvidia or AMD. The brands just add their lights, tweaks, packaging and configs onto the standard card. Often it's ephemeral improvements.

Thanks for bring up the issue with case. I'd totally missed it.

I'm using Corsair Carbide Series CC-9011050-WW Mid-Tower Steel Gaming Case with Red LED (Black).

I purchased my PSU in December 2018.
