I'm trying to get a new PC mostly for gaming but also for using Unreal Engine 5 and modding games.

Keep in mind I'm no expert but I got this after some research:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (4.2 GHz / 5.0 GHz) - 450€
Cooler: Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE CAPELLIX XT (Noir) - 310€
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX - 280€
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series 32 Go (2x 16 Go) DDR5 6000 MHz CL30 - 169€
Graphic card: SUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER OC Edition 16 GB - 1350€
Storage: Western Digital SSD WD Black SN850X 2 To (might get 2 of those) - 200€
Case: be quiet! Shadow Base 800 FX - Noir - 220€
Power supply: Corsair RMx Series (2021) RM850x 80PLUS Gold - 210€

total 3189€+ an extra 260 euro if I pay for the seller to build it.
I will probably use it on a 21:9 screen (3440x1440)

I don't want a noisy PC so I favored thermal / sound performance more than the look.

First I don't even know if there is an obvious incompatibility between those components ?
Any suggestion of things that should be change or be more cost effective ?
Would this motherboard allow me to upgrade in the future ?

Should I go for an i7 instead of the Ryzen 7 ?

Thanks!

Edit with the template:

Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP

Budget Range: 2500 to 3500 Euros

System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Mostly for gaming (Modded Skyrim, Cyberpunk, Witcher 3, ...) but also for Unreal Engine 5 work and modding games as well as photoshop or the occasional video editing.

Are you buying a monitor: Probably, currently I have an Alienware AW3418DW and I like the 21:9 aspect ratio.

Parts to Upgrade: /

Do you need to buy OS: Yes windows
Please note that if you're using an OEM license of Windows, you will need a new one when buying a new motherboard.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
https://www.ldlc.com/

Location: Annecy - FRANCE

Parts Preferences: Only preference would be going for Nvidia for GPU

This is what I gathered:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (4.2 GHz / 5.0 GHz) - 450€
Cooler: Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE CAPELLIX XT (Noir) - 310€
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX - 280€

Power supply: Corsair RMx Series (2021) RM850x 80PLUS Gold - 210€

Build page: https://www.ldlc.com/s/3S95QKF

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 3440x1440

Additional Comments: I prefer a quiet PC than a colorful one.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Just run the stuff I do better (like Unreal 5) and play some demanding game with ray tracing with reasonable framerate (cyberpunk, witcher 3, ...)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You should follow the stylization of this thread;
with info which'll help us maximize our suggestions for you/your build. A PCPartPicker link would help and ofc your location, preferred site for purchase and your maximum budget.

(Noir)
I'm assuming you're located in France or Belgium.

I don't want a noisy PC so I favored thermal / sound performance more than the look.
You could look into air cooling, with Noctua coolers/fans in your case.

Nice profile picture.

As far as the build goes its good, but you can make some significant cost savings on the CPU cooler and likely elsewhere, but we need to know what countries you can purchase from that are cheapest for you. Thanks in advanced.

Here is a much more cost optimized build with similar parts with exception of the CPU cooler:

It looks good, about the only things i would suggest would be to maybe swap out that CPU cooler, 310 Euros is ALOT of money for a CPU cooler. If you're ok with air cooling the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 is an excellent cooler, especially for the money. Also a Radeon 7900 XTX is worth looking at if you don't care as much about raytracing, cheaper, more VRAM, and a smidge faster in standard rasterization, the RTX 4080 Super is still a solid card though.
