Hello all, I am going to get myself a gaming gig so this is what I had planned. Can you tell if this build will be good or not? Suggestions welcomed.

P.S. - I'm from India and prices here are higher so instead of giving the link, I'll quote the price beside them.

My budget is around 1200-1300$.

CPU: Core i5-6500k - (275$)
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212X - (42$)
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Ranger - (275$)
HDD: Seagate Barracudda 2TB - (84$)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3000 - (125$)
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 Gaming G1 6GB - (330$)
PSU: Corsair VS650 650W - (66$)
Case: NZXT S340 Mid Tower Case - (100$) or Mofotech Reactor Z1-500 - (75$)

Total: 1272$

I'm not getting the GTX 1070 as it is 180$ more but on top of that, 1440p OR 144hz gaming monitors are insanely pricey here. Cheapest 1080p 144hz monitor is BenQ XL4211Z and it retails for 370$. 1440p are 550$+. Dropping the SSD because Samsung 850 EVO 250gb is 115$. I plan on getting the SSD later when the prices drop.

Three questions:
1.) Should I wait for Kaby Lake, for Optane SSD compatibility for the future(like 3-4 years down the line). Kaby Lake processors are going to be out in about 2 months.
2.) I'm not getting GTX 1070 because I fear that when HBM2 comes, it'll be a huge difference and Since only time I'll get a 1440p monitor will be 2-3 years from now, so I'm thinking of using 1060 until then for maxed 1080p at 60Hz. Thinking of selling 1060 at that point and getting a new GPU.
3.) Confused between LG 24MP88HV-S and BenQ RL2455HM. LG has IPS panel but 5ms GTG whereas BenQ has TN panel but 1ms GTG.Which one should i get?

No reason to wait for Kaby Lake.
The 1060 is fine for 60hz 1080p.
I think the popular answer would be to get the IPS LG
The psu in your build is NOT very good.

Solution
If you have a need now, build now.
Kaby lake will be here next quarter, likely.
Price/performance is expected to be slightly better, or Intel would not sell many.
Perhaps by 5%.

Thoughts on your build:

1. I5-6500 comes with a adequate cooler. No need for aftermarket.

2. Maximus is a fine Z170 motherboard. It is appropriate only if you see yourself eventually upgrading to a i5-6600K
Otherwise, a less expensive H110 motherboard will do the job equally well.
The best possible upgrade for a H110 motherboard is a I7-6700K running at stock.

3. Consider the merits of a i3-6100. It is usually a better gamer at a lesser price.
Here is a review:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/10543/the-skylake-core-i3-51w-cpu-review-i3-6320-6300-6100-tested

4. I will never again build without a ssd for the "C" drive. It makes everything you do much quicker.
120gb is minimum, it will hold the os and a handful of games. If you can go 240gb, or 500gb you may never need a hard drive.

I would defer on the hard drive unless you need to store large files such as video's.
It is easy to add a hard drive later.
Samsung EVO is a good choice for performance and reliability.
And, WD is considered to be more reliable hard drive than Seagate.

5. GTX1060 will need about 450w.
VS650 is fine on power, but it is a tier 4 unit on this list.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
See if you can't manage tier 1 or 2.
Look to Seasonic, xfx, antec for starters.

To answer your questions:

1. The unknown big thing about kaby lake is the new chipset and optane.
Optane will be a premium ssd type device; do not expect it to be cheap. On a budget, stick with skylake.

2. GTX1060 should run most games well at 1080P
Whenever you run out of graphics power, sell it and replace.
a 520w psu will run even a GTX1080.

3. Your choice.
A tn panel will be faster if your games are fast action shooters.
A ips panel will give a better image and a wider 178/178 viewing angle.
Go to a store to see what the differences are if you can.
Me, I like better image quality.

Thanks a lot. This solved a lot of my queries.

I'm sorry. It was a mistake of specifying core i5-6500k. I was talking about Core i5-6600k. But as you said, I'll drop the CPU cooler. Maybe sometime later.
I liked your advice of picking up the i3 instead of the i5. I thought the core i3 bottlenecks the GPU in some cases but the link you referred proved otherwise. Now I'm confused. I think I'll just have to decide.

On the Storage part, I saw my options. 500gb SSD is just out of my reach. I can pick up a 250gb Samsung 850 Evo SATA. But then I'll probably have to drop the hard disk. Another is 120gb SSD + 1 TB HDD. If I pick the core i3-6100 or 6320, I can pick 250gb SSD and 2-3 TB HDD or in this case I can even pick up a 500gb SSD. Would that be a better option?

I picked up a Seasonic S12II PSU-620W-Bronze Power Supply. Couldnt find Antec 650w at a reasonal rate. 750w was a bit more costly but that exceeds my power need. Is this PSU right or should i go for Antec Truepower Classic 750w- Gold Power Supply? Its About a difference of 20$.

I checked the Panels. They werent these models but I compared between TN and IPS. I like IPS better. I play FPS games but I think I should be okay.

Thank You.

Thank you for your reply.

The others have also mentioned about the PSU not being good. I'm picking up either the one you suggested or Seasonic S12-II 620W bronze. Which one do you suggest?
I really liked the case you suggested. I'm gonna go with it.
Taking up the LG monitor.

Hey dude, fellow Indian here. Just built my PC a few weeks ago.
Even I thought of getting the LG IPS but instead went with a Dell 21.5" and I can tell you it is amazing!
Plus looks pretty sexy with a slim bezel and all
