Question Advice on upgrading processor for Windows 11 compatability

I’m considering purchasing a new processor for my gaming tower built in 2014 in order to run Windows 11 and hesitate to spend the money in fear of discovering the upgrade still won’t work. My reason for doing this is simply to get familiar with Windows 11 at home so that I can use it at work in front of clients without looking like I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ve downloaded Microsoft’s list of compatible processors and I guess I just need to know the minimum generation I should be choosing from and any other advice you might have. I don’t currently have a TPM module and will be getting one of those too.

System:
Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI socket 1151 currently with i5–6500

Gigabyte Geforce GTX1060 6gb

16gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz - CMK16GX4M2B3000C15

Officially your out of luck with the 1151 platform. But if you take the time to create your windows 11 using Rufus you can install 11 on what you currently have. Upgrade or not.

Eighth gen is the official intel CPU or newer.

There is a page here on tom's that has directions on how to do it. I'm not sure where on here but I see it now and than.

And by the way Rufus is how I made my working ISO of Windows 11 that has worked on every machine I have needed to install 11 on.
