Hello,
Could I get some advise on if its worth it to upgrade right now. My current system specs are as followed:

CPU: Intel i5-4670k
GPU: GTX 770 2gb
RAM: 16 gb
Motherboard: Asus hero 6

I want to upgrade to play games such as tomb raider (current system does run but stutters), red dead redemption 2 (current system does not run), and flight sim (no chance). With the GPU shortages I was thinking I could upgrade everything else and reused the 770 till a better option came in stock. specifically i am looking at the Ryzen 5600x for cpu and keep the RAM the same and upgrade the motherboard. Would that allow me to play these games better or would the 770 bottleneck it so the benefits would disappear? Also it seems like AMD and intel are fairly even at this moment. I am interested in AMD smart access memory but I do not know if this is a gimmick or feature. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Resizable BAR (the generic name for "Smart Access") is available on Intel's 10th and 11th gen too, so no loss there if you choose to go with the cheaper i5-11x00(k) instead. It currently gives 3-10% extra performance depending on the game and GPU.

As for the GPU, a GTX770 will definitely be a bottleneck in most current games long before the CPU is. That said, there ALWAYS is a bottleneck and a GPU bottleneck can easily be lessened by lowering details until you get a frame rate you are comfortable with, so I'd say a GPU bottleneck is far more desirable since it is so much more flexible than a CPU one.
