Have finalized my build, could someone take a look and give advice/suggestions wherever there's room to improve.

This will be mainly for gaming, but I'll be recording my podcast and doing graphic design on it, hence the i7 processor over the i5.

Why are you basing all your parts on the 6th gen cpu when they have a 7th gen cpu for a very similar price? Also get a wd black if you want performance for very similar price. You need a 650 w psu and Id reccomend going with a 1070 instead of 1080 unless you know youll need it.

In the uk on google shopping the cpu shows for £1 more only which is like $1.5 more I think

If you look at his link it's Canada.

PArt of the reason I went 6700 is that it was mentioned that with the 7700 that a BIOS update would be required and I was thinking logistically that could be a pain without another CPU. This is what was said on PCPartPicker:

"Some Intel Z170 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."

The other thing is too that the 7700 apparently has some issues with that case, again full description from PCPartPicker:

"The Phanteks - ECLIPSE P400 ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 395mm long, but video cards over 280mm may block drive bays. Since the MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GAMING X Video Card is 290mm long, some drive bays may not be usable."

My thinking is, if there's not much of a performance difference between the 7700 and 6700 I might as well go with 6700 as it doesn't have those aforementioned issues.

Question though, do you think it's worth changing case and upgrading to 7700 or should I stick with the 6700?

Thanks for the advice everyone.

A few changes:
- Changed MOBO
- Changed Case
- Changed CPU to 7th Gen
- Going with 1080 TI instead, decided at $200 difference I'd rather pay and get some more longevity out of it.
