HI,
i have an old oem lenovo thinkcentre with a 280W delta electronics psu.
i was thinking about adding a gpu to the system and maybe play some games .
while considering which gpu, i had to check the possibility of replacing psu to a larger capability one.
the thing is that when i saw the connecting cables and the headers on my motherboard, they seemed a bit smaller in size..i mean it literally, those 4 cpu power pin place on the motherboard seems really small..
my question is weather i am imagining and it is standard connections
my motherboard- lenovo thinkcentre A60 [chipset-nvidia geforce 6100] amd athlon cpu with 4 gb ddr2.
PSU- delta electronics 280w .
i want to thank you in advance ffor taking the time to check and reply and advise me.

Joseph.

The HP use the SFF PSU with the mini atx 20 or 24 pins power cable. So you are better just buy the low profile GPU like GT 730/GT 740 DDR5 or R7 240/ 250 DDR5, because you hard to find high wattage PSU to fit into the case, and it will be more expensive too. I installed the GT 730 DDR5 into my friend dell optiplex 960 with 235W PSU, and it works very well.
Gt 730 DDR5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133542
Just make sure it is the DDR5 type, not the DDR3.

The Lenovo ThinkCentre A60 comes in more than one form factor. There is a mini-tower and desktop version.

The OP needs to specify exactly which one they have.

Yes, I know, but OP said " i saw the connecting cables and the headers on my motherboard, they seemed a bit smaller in size..i mean it literally, those 4 cpu power pin place on the motherboard seems really small.." That why I think it is the small mini-tower, but maybe I am wrong.

hi guys,
thanks for your reply.
my a60 is the bigger shape of case [out of the two shown with ko888 pics]. special thanks to ko888 with always helping and sharing the knowledge .
as for the psu size-its standard size 15cmx16cmx8.6cm .
i was worried about the actual connections .
from what i understand now [by your answers] ,the size is standard and i can buy a new cpu and it will connect good with my old mobo.
pls let me know if im wrong here.
i want to thank you again for the honest advise.
