Adware in chrome (pugu5l)

My grandparents got a virus somehow and asked me to clean it up and fix it. The virus was easy to remove but there seems to be a program I can't find that causes chrome to randomly open new windows with ads. First it connects to pugu5l.com and then it goes to random ad sites like this. I tried malwarebytes/bitdefender/hitmanpro. Any ideas?

Hello,

I got a pc from my grandparent with lots of adware installed. They asked me to clean it, most of it is clean but i can't seem to find this last one. Whenever i click on something in chrome it redirects me to pugu5l.com and then to a website full of ads. I already tried malwarebytes/hitmanpro/bitdefender.
I don't know what to do but it's quite frustrating. Any ideas?
