Question after building all the hardware on my msi PRO Z790-A WIFI the system keeps going on and off

A few things:

Is the RAM on the QVL listing for the motherboard?

What power supply are you using with this system?

When you first build a system it isn't unusual for it to restart a couple of times while it learns the memory timings and such, but this shouldn't happen more than a couple of times or so, then should land on a splash screen telling you there is no OS installed. This is, of course, assuming that you have an empty SSD in there. If you brought over OS from a previous build it may be worthwhile to remove that for now.

Check all of your connections from the power supply and make sure everything is right and tight. Make sure your RAM is fully seated and in the proper slots. If those procedures don't work, remove everything from the case, put the motherboard on the box it came in and attempt to boot with as minimal a setup as possible. No storage, no fans aside from CPU cooler, one stick of RAM, no graphics card.
While the motherboard is out of the case, be sure that all your standoffs are in the proper spot and populated. Make sure there are no small fragments or metal or anything that could be touching the back of the motherboard.

Does the motherboard have or show any error codes or lights relating to POST? IE does it turn on, you see some color of light for a moment and then the restart?

i just assembled a new machine and i get the red led about the cpu not being working well, it just goes on and off neverendingly.

i5 13400F
msi pro Z790-a WIFI
Corsair 5600Mhz 2x16Gb Ram
Msi 4060ti
seasonic 850W focus+ gold

Make sure you didn't bend the MB pins and that mounting pressure of your cooler or AIO is right.

A 790 should have a BIOS for support for your CPU but after certifying above, verify your BIOS version.

yea nothing i can really do to fix this issue. ill just go to the super expensive 65$ an hour computer shop. thanks for your help!

wow, that's a bit extreme.
unless you're standing there watching the entire procedure it could be a 15min fix that they charge you 3 hours for.

there's a small place here that advertises as a gaming console repair shop but i've had them do some computer work for me that was strictly by the job, not hourly.

maybe search around for a while longer for what's available and end up driving a bit further for a much better deal.
