Hi,
I'm currently upgrading my editing machine (After Effects & Premiere mostly). Wanting to hear some opinions on the motherboard choice. I have been an Asus guy for some time but open to any suggestions.

The 2 I'm currently looking at:
ASUS PRIME X299-DELUXE
ASUS PRIME X299-A

Any information on what the difference between these two boards are and any other suggestions would be appreciated. I have compared them on the Asus website but can't really spot exactly where the extra $150 goes for the DELUXE model?

I have tentatively chosen the other components but want to get the motherboard choice locked down first. Thinking:
SKYLAKE-X CORE I7-7820X
CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB 128GB (8X16GB) DDR4-3600 CL18
GTX 1080 TI
Hard drives will be a combo of M.2 and SSD's, havent exactly decided which ones yet.

Cheers

Even though x299 isn't that great a platform, Asus still does the best with it. The deluxe board comes with a thunderbolt card, wifi and an extra pcie slot.

Ok thanks will check them out. In the meantime what do you think of the boards I mentioned in my original post?
