I recently bought an HD 7790 after being stuck with an hd4850 for a very long time, and i installed it, everything worked fine on the windows default drivers, but when i installed the AMD Omega 14.xxx driver my screen has gone completely black and i cant use my pc without safemode, and the fact that i can use it in safemode tells me that it is a driver issue, forgive me if i am wrong.

My PC specs:
AMD Athlon ii x2 240
8GB 1066 MHz RAM (2gbx4)
MSI HD7790 OC 1GB
Antec 500w PSU
Windows 8.1 Professional

Thanks! :)

Solution
Uninstall the driver from safe mode with http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Then boot to Win and let it install the default driver. There seems to be a lot of folks that are having trouble with the Omega driver on this forum. I would suggest using the driver before the Omega version for the time being.

^ uninstall with ddu. Download a fresh omega driver from the amd website. I think your download may have been corrupted or maybe something went wrong during the install process.

Anyways. Run the new driver as an administrator and reinstall. Should be perfectly fine after that. Post if you have anymore problems
