after new firmware connection speed dropped from 150 to 72mbps

I upgraded my TD-W8951NB firmaware to latest version and my speed dropped from 150 to 72mbps.How can i fix it? my Channel Bandwidth i sset to 20/40mhz and transmit power to High

Try setting your bandwidth to 20Mhz only. Verify that you are on a channel (1,6,11) with minimum congestion.

Search to see if others are reporting similar situations.

You may be able to find the older firmware and roll-back.

I tried your suggestions but with no changes and i cant go back to the older firmware, because its not possible because of some security reasons.

What WAN speed do you have? If you have less than 35Mbit the change in link speed shouldn't be noticeable.

How far from the router are you? It may be there is nothing you can do based on your location relative to the router.

Just 5mbit...its not noticeable but they state that speed is over 150mbps so i was just wondering why its not.

One of my notebook is like 0.3m near to that modem (on that machine it says 72.2mbps) and the other one is 1.5m away from it. (it says 72.0mbps)

I just set it to 802.11n only and 20MHz without security and i had 150mbps for few seconds.

I would recommend you try WPA2 AES encryption. That is what wireless N is optimized for.

Nothing changed. I think its caused by that new firmware. (and fuck that security option that i can go back to older ones)

Anything above 54Mbit is wireless N.
